A man died in an apartment fire in an apartment building in Stuttgart.

Three other people were slightly injured and one seriously injured by the fire, the police said on Tuesday.

According to the fire department, a witness had reported the fire early Tuesday morning.

When the emergency services arrived, flames and thick smoke had already escaped from the windows of the apartment on the first floor.

The firefighters brought 25 residents of the building to safety. They were able to return to their apartments that night. Only the apartment in which the fire broke out was initially uninhabitable. The injured were taken to hospitals. A total of 86 fire and rescue services were on site. Further details such as the cause of the fire were initially unclear.
