It is known that the convenience store 7-Eleven is considering legal action against the popular Netflix drama 'DP'.

According to the distribution industry today (7th), Korea Seven, which operates 7-Eleven, recently sent a proof of content requesting correction and editing to Netflix and Climax Studio, the producer of 'DP', saying that it contained content that had a negative impact on its image.

The scene in question is when Hwang Jang-soo (Shin Seung-ho), a character in the play appearing in episode 5 of 'DP', while working part-time at a convenience store, removes expired products from the shelf, the store owner appears and says, "If you remove it immediately because the expiration date has passed, there is a loss. Are you going to fill me in?" The scene is blunt.

All of the characters in the scene are wearing uniforms with the 7-Eleven logo in the background, and because the 7-Eleven store is in the background, Korea Seven suggested legal action, saying, "I am concerned about damaging the image."

A representative from Korea Seven said, "When we requested a photo shoot, we cooperated because they said that only scenes of products were displayed. We would not have allowed such scenes. We are considering legal action as it is damaging the image of the brand and store owners." .

In response, Netflix said, "We are currently discussing with 7-Eleven."

'DP', which was released on the 27th of last month, captured the hearts of many viewers with its realistic episode dealing with the story of an arrest team catching deserters.

Not only in Korea, but also in overseas rankings such as Vietnam and Hong Kong, it was maintaining a good mood, but this controversy put a brake on the box office.

Many netizens commented, "Watching this scene, I wondered if it was right that we negotiated with the brand", "It's not a hole-in-the-wall store, and convenience stores strictly manage the expiration date. Items past the expiration date are not stamped on the POS machine at all", "If you had created a virtual brand, It would have been better."
