A suspected drug dealer lured the police in the Oberbergischer Kreis with accidental emergency calls in his sleep.

The rescue control center received multiple calls from a cell phone from Waldbröl on Friday night - without anyone answering, as the police reported in a press release on Monday.

Instead, only a snore and moan could be heard.

Concerned about the physical condition of the caller, the police went to the apartment of a 23-year-old, to whom the number could be assigned.

On site, the officers then came across two completely taken by surprise young men - and a not inconsiderable amount of marijuana, ecstasy pills and other drugs as well as fine scales and cash.

In addition, the officers were met with a strong smell of cannabis as soon as they entered the apartment.

A 21-year-old had opened the door.

He said his friend fell asleep on the sofa over his cell phone.

The 23-year-old then fell out of breath when the police suddenly stood in front of him.

The two men were temporarily arrested, but were initially released.

Both are now expecting criminal proceedings on suspicion of drug trafficking.
