Together, they witnessed the launch of innovative works combining Dunhuang culture and cloisonne art.

  The "Millennium National Quintessence·Hundred Years of Elegance-National Premiere Ceremony of Cloisonne Big Plate of "Century Huazhang"" co-sponsored by China Arts and Crafts Association and Beijing Arts and Crafts Industry Association was held in Beijing on the same day.

This new cloisonne work was created by Zhong Liansheng, the former dean of the Central Academy of Art and Design, well-known art and design educator and art designer Chang Shana, and the master of Chinese arts and crafts and the representative inheritor of the cloisonne production skills of the national intangible cultural heritage.

  Chang Shana's father, Chang Shuhong, devoted all his life to the research and protection of Dunhuang art, and was called "the patron saint of Dunhuang".

Chang Shana, who copied the murals in Dunhuang with her father since she was a child, is called the "Daughter of Dunhuang" and the honorary title of Lifetime Achievement Artist of the Chinese Federation of Literary and Art Circles.

  Chang Shana recalled her fate with Lin Huiyin and Liang Sicheng emotionally at the event that day: "(Last century) The cloisonne inheritance was facing difficulties in the early 1950s. To protect traditional crafts, Mr. Lin Huiyin guided me to apply Dunhuang elements to arts and crafts design. Since then, I have embarked on the road of arts and crafts and art design, and it has become my life's career."

  Chinese arts and crafts master Zhong Liansheng also shared his creative thoughts: "My teacher, Master Qian Meihua and Dean Chang, are both students of Mr. Lin Huiyin. They participated in the work of the cloisonne rescue team at Tsinghua University in the 1950s. The development of art has made great contributions. Dean Chang has in-depth research on Dunhuang art and has profound artistic design skills. I am very honored to receive her careful guidance to make this work more exquisite."

  At the event site, Chang Shana, Zhong Liansheng, and Zhou Zhengsheng, a special researcher of the Central Museum of Culture and History, former president and consultant of China Arts and Crafts Association, Wang Haiyan, deputy director of the Cultural Relics and Tourism Department of China Cultural Relic Exchange Center, and vice president and secretary-general of Beijing Arts and Crafts Association Song Yinwei and Xie Yanhua, chairman of Beijing Enamel Factory Co., Ltd. jointly unveiled this new work.

  The cloisonne market of "The Chapter of the Century" showcases the flourishing of New China's development with Dunhuang art and cloisonne skills, and the rising of the world.

The work adopts the shape of a disc, which represents the unity of the country and the prosperity of the world.

In the center of the disc is a phoenix carved with sterling silver and gilded, and a hundred birds around form a picture of a hundred birds facing the phoenix, which symbolizes the prosperity of the country and the prosperity of the people.

The highlight of the whole disc is the five wishful opening windows, which symbolize the five blessings and wishful things, depicting the five important historical nodes of China in the past century, namely, opening the world, changing the world, earth-shaking, rejoicing, and brand-new.

  The overall coloring of the work and the patterns of curly grass, treasure-like patterns, and tangled lotus patterns are all derived from the algae pattern in the Dunhuang elements, and the main color is red. The seal engraves a beautiful scene of prosperity and harmony in the country and the people. , Symbolizing the prosperity of the great motherland and the everlasting foundation.
