She revealed last March that she only had a few months to live.

Ex-singer of British pop group Girls Aloud, Sarah Harding, died of cancer at the age of 39, her mother announced on Sunday.

She suffered from breast cancer, and the disease had spread to other parts of her body.

"It is with deep sorrow that I share the news today that my beautiful daughter Sarah has unfortunately passed away," her mother Marie announced on Instagram.

"She fought very hard until her last day"

“Many of you know Sarah's battle with cancer and know that she fought really hard from her diagnosis until her last day.

She left peacefully this morning, ”she said.

Comprised of five young girls, Sarah Harding, Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts, Cheryl Tweedy and Kimberley Walsh, Girls Aloud enjoyed success for a decade until the band broke up in 2013. Their first hit,
