The handling of these three figures had attracted nationwide attention: Now the three wise men from the nativity scene in Ulm Minster are to have their own exhibition.

This is to begin at the Advent season in the Museum Ulm and, in addition to the much-discussed nativity scene figures, also include other works by the artist Martin Scheible, as a spokesman for the museum said.

The initiative for the exhibition of the nativity figures came from the Ulm Museum and was welcomed by the evangelical cathedral community as well as the family that the figures belong to, said Dean Ernst-Wilhelm Gohl. The museum is a suitable place to classify the works of art in terms of art history and social policy, said a spokesman. The planning of the exhibition is still ongoing and should therefore also be supported by an external diversity officer. In addition, there is an exchange with the toy museum in Nuremberg, it said. An exhibition on racist toys started there in July. First the "Südwest Presse" reported.

In October 2020 it became known that the Ulm Münster community no longer wanted to show the crib figures because of a racist representation of Melchior from today's perspective. The decision had attracted nationwide attention and aroused many criticisms. The Münster community had already announced last year that they wanted to find a new way of dealing with the crib figures.
