After Kanye West, it's Drake's turn to release his highly anticipated new album.
The Canadian has indeed published
Certified Lover Boy
, and the rapper had planned big surprises.
Not only is the list of guests impressive (Jay-Z, Nicki Minaj, Travis Scott, 21 Savage, Lil Baby and Yebba), but in addition, the star has allowed himself to "invite" unexpected artists: John Lennon and Paul McCartney, just that, as reported by the BBC.
The two Beatles are indeed credited on
Champagne Poetry
, which samples
Michelle
, one of the many Fab Four hits.
Certified Lover Boy
was due out last year, but Drake decided to take the time to get back on his feet after having knee surgery in 2020. “I'm lucky to be in good shape again and I feel well, focused on the album, but
CLB
will not be released in January, ”he said earlier this year to his fans.
It's the war
Among the other surprises of the album, we can note in the credits the presence of a certain… R. Kelly.
The R & B star, currently grappling with multiple cases of rape, sexual assault and racketeering, is indeed named as one of the co-authors of the
TSU
title
.
Nonetheless, as the NME notes, it's difficult to determine to what extent the singer was involved, since none of his tracks appear to have been sampled.
A week after that of
Donda
, the release of
Certified Lover Boy
is in line with the hostilities between Kanye West and Drake.
The two rappers had also given a layer, after several months of calm, a few days ago.
