The capture of Kabul by the Taliban coincided within days of the finalization in Greece of the extension of a 40-kilometer wall along its land border with Turkey, coupled with an electronic surveillance system.

This is quite a symbol for a country whose conservative government insists more on protecting its borders against illegal entries than on humanitarian considerations linked to the Afghan situation.
At the same time, the Afghans in Greece are trying to raise awareness of the fate of their compatriots who are fleeing the country.
