It has become a tradition in Mulhouse (Haut-Rhin): each year, the municipality calls on its inhabitants to recover a beautiful tree.
The tree will be installed at Place des Victoires from November, on the occasion of the Christmas holidays, reports France 3 Grand Est.
Candidates can contact the town hall immediately, via the email address: deco.florale@mulhouse.fr.
But beware, the selection criteria are strict.
The tree should be between 15 and 18 meters high.
It must be harmonious and therefore well supplied.
On the other hand, no particular species is privileged.
Recycled trees for green spaces
After receipt of applications, employees of the Nature and Green Spaces department will come to the homes of interested Mulhouse residents.
They will select the most interesting conifers and the big winner will be chosen in a collegial manner, specifies the local television channel.
The felling of the fir tree as well as its transport are fully supported by the city.
After the Christmas festivities, the tree will be crushed and will serve as mulch for the various massifs of the city.
