I'll be honest: in the war between Idrak Mirzalizade and those who demanded his punishment, I was at first for Idrak.

Yes, the crap mattress joke is a nasty joke.

No, as a Russian she did not hurt me.

We are a great nation, and if you take offense at every toilet joker, the offense will soon end.

And yes, I want to live in a world where everyone can make fun of everyone.

Non-Russian - over Russians, and vice versa.

And for the word they punish only with the word.

Until I learned one small but significant detail.

Idrak is not a citizen of the Russian Federation.

And in this context, his take suddenly sparkled with new colors.

Over the years (since the 1990s, when among the "intelligentsia" the tone of disgusting condescension towards their country was considered the only true "Quilted jackets, Vasya, Russian vanka", to insults everything and everyone.

This was considered good form in certain circles.

But sometimes interesting things happened: those who spoke about the "last refuge" went abroad.

It was there that an unexpected transformation began with the person.

The new homeland suddenly became terribly loved.

Patriotism turned out to be not so bad if it is not tested in relation to Russia, and everyone who did not even criticize, but simply criticized Germany, Israel or America, became enemies.

There is nothing surprising or even shameful in this either.

It's okay to behave respectfully towards the owners of the house in which you are a guest.

It is not customary for the hostess to say that the cake is not baked, there is dust in the corners, and the jellied fish is disgusting, even if it's true.

Politeness is taught from childhood, and if mom and dad haven't taught someone a lesson, then life will teach.

It is enough to put it out of the house twice - and everything will be remembered.

Visitors to any of these countries feel it instinctively.

In Russia, everything is different.

Moreover, it is different precisely because the “best, advanced” part of society makes it clear that this is the only way to be done here.

We live in a unique country in which directors, writers, television and radio presenters and comedians live, earn money, buy real estate, but still feel not at home, but like migrant workers on a mattress (or resource base): everything that is possible is take it out as soon as possible and do not forget to shit at last.

And what is the country?

What about those who are not "the best"?

What are patriots, security officials, all kinds of departments?

It's very simple - they allow.

And as long as they allow, we have a situation where guests laugh in the face of the hosts and wipe their feet on the tablecloth.

Idrak Mirzalizada was not lucky.

He had the misfortune to joke when the owners of the apartment came to their senses and began to ask: "And what, in fact, is this whole whooping crowd doing at my house?"

And, after looking around a little, they began to throw out boors indiscriminately - those who would fall under the arm.

Idrak got caught.

We are on the verge of big changes, and hardly anyone can argue with that.

Jokes are no longer just jokes.

And the boundaries of our freedoms are being revised before our eyes.

Not only Idrak - we all do not really understand how to behave.

What saves in such cases?

Remember what mom and dad taught.

Elementary politeness.
