Writing drama based on real events is not straightforward.

Just ask the creators of the feature film Call Girl (2012) who were forced to cut a controversial scene after pressure from Olof Palme's family, so that he could not be suspected of being involved in the so-called brothel plot.

This autumn's series contain several examples of controversial stories - the Palme murder, the Knutby drama and the so-called Haijby affair, where in reality there are still loose threads and where we may never get any definitive answers.

The world's least functional family will return this autumn with the level of conflict even more heightened.

Succession is the heir to soap operas such as Falcon Crest or Dallas but is in the prestigious TV territory along with series such as Mad Men.

If you have not seen the first two seasons, it's time to start now to be part of the third chapter of this epic tale of the war between an evil father and his children.

The low-key drama comedy about life with a bonus family enters a new phase.

Patrik and Lisa have had a son with Down syndrome.

The unlucky Martin moves back to mother Bigge after a fire in the kitchen.

And we get to meet a new character: the strict Katja's mother.

Katja will be played this time by Grotesco star Emma Peters after Petra Mede was forced to drop out of the recordings after being hit by Covid-19 in the autumn of 2020.

Who murdered Olof Palme?

The question was hardly answered by Chief Prosecutor Krister Petersson when he closed the 34-year investigation in the summer of 2020 during a high-profile press conference.

The Netflix series is based on the journalist Thomas Pettersson's book with the same title, in which the advertiser Stig Engström is singled out as the perpetrator.

Robert Gustavsson plays the main role as Stig Engström and the script is written by veterans Wilhelm Behrman and Niklas Rockström, who are behind series like Kalifat.

Scenes from a marriage

 (HBO Nordic)

"Television is the most remarkable thing there is," wrote Ingmar Bergman during the work on his first television series Scenes from a Marriage (1974).

TV series have changed in appearance since then.

The new version has the HBO drama's soft, dark crunchiness, and instead of Liv Ullmann and Erland Josephson, the well-to-do couple's journey in and out of marriage is played by Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain.

The series is directed by Israeli Hagai Levi, known for having created series such as In treatment and The Affair.

Premiere: September 13
