Missing dog travels 380 km to get home

A dog that was lost during a holiday trip in France has returned to its hometown 380 km away.

The owners of the Terrier had stopped while returning from a holiday in Italy in the French region of Savoy, France Bleu radio station reported.

The two-year-old dog named "Pablo" left the camper van to explore the surrounding areas, but it was no longer unusual. His companions waited for him for hours in vain and reported the mayor's office the next day about Pablo's disappearance before continuing their journey to their relatives.

A few days later, they received a photo of a dog from neighbors staying near their home in Nîmes, in southern France.

"I got to know Pablo from her - the photo - and I couldn't believe it, it was a moment of real happiness," Catherine, a family member, told the radio station.

And the dog was, in fact, Pablo - emaciated but alive.

"We immediately decided to go home," said owner Roger.

Then they bought a GPS collar so they wouldn't lose Pablo again.
