Dubai hosts the largest esports festival, "Come-Con", "pop culture" and "YouTube"

To confirm Dubai's leading position as a global center for future technology industries, and a leading destination for the development of virtual sports and digital content in the region and the world, Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Dubai Government Media Office, announced that Dubai will host the first edition of the festival of esports, comics, pop culture and POPC Live, The first of its kind in the Middle East, which will be held in March 2022.
The festival, which is organized by Galaxy Racer (GXR), one of the leading companies in the field of e-sports based in Dubai, in cooperation with the entertainment company Waverider, will continue for five days, and will include many events and various activities that will be held for the first time in the region. It includes esports, comic-con, and pop culture for YouTubers.
Leading destination
In this context, Nihal Badri, Director of “Brand Dubai” said: “Hosting the largest POPC Live festival in the Middle East for the first time in Dubai comes within the framework of strengthening Dubai’s position as a leading destination for the future industry, and within the efforts led by the Dubai Government Media Office. To transform the city into a global center for the virtual sports industry, and a platform to establish, organize and attract international tournaments in which the best and most famous players from around the world participate.”

The Director of Brand Dubai indicated that the partnership between Galaxy Racer and Waverider supports the promotion of talent, creativity and entrepreneurship, and will contribute to strengthening Dubai's position as a global center for entertainment and virtual sports events.

Comic-Con fans will also be able to enjoy many activities, including Artists' Corner, Film Club and Celebrity Meetings.
