Half of the world's population suffered from nightmares and sleep disturbances during Corona

A recent US study found that more than half of the world's population experienced sleep disturbances during the Corona pandemic.

The study said that sleep disturbances have become a general problem for the world's population, as nearly six out of 10 people around the world suffer from insomnia and poor sleep quality during the Corona pandemic, according to the American "UBI" website.

And the site added, in a report published on Friday, that the new study, which included people from 79 countries around the world, and was published in the “Sleep Health” journal, found that 56.5% of people had suffered from some type of sleep disorder during the epidemic.

He added: "Also, nearly two-thirds of the people in the study suffered from a pattern (delayed sleep), which was associated with a change in sleep duration and an increase in nightmares, and the second most common sleep pattern change, which one in five people suffers from, is the pattern (interrupted sleep). )".

And the site continued: “Scientists say that these people go to bed later and spend a shorter time trying to fall asleep, but their sleep is of less quality, and they are less likely to compensate for this through naps, and the results have shown that women are more likely to suffer from this. turmoil of men.

“Sleep disturbances have generally increased during the pandemic, with 56.5% of study participants reporting high levels of insomnia,” said Dr Megan Petroff, a professor at the University of Arizona in the US.

She added: "Sleep is an essential part of life, just like air, water and food. Health and vital functions are compromised when the quality of the air we breathe, the water we drink and the food we eat is poor, as well as if the sleep pattern is poor and insufficient in terms of time." .
