A new Saturday of mobilization in perspective.

The seventh in a row.

One week before the start of the school year, more than 200 demonstrations are planned this Saturday in France to oppose the health pass and the government's policy in the face of Covid-19.

Territorial intelligence expects to see "between 140,000 and 180,000 demonstrators" marching across the country, including "12,000 to 20,000" in Paris, a police source told AFP.

Mobilization could therefore continue to decline, after already two weeks of decline.

Last Saturday, 175,000 demonstrators had been identified by the Ministry of the Interior, against almost 215,000 the previous week.

The militant collective Le Nombre Jaune, which publishes a city-by-city count, had for its part counted 361,818 “minimum” demonstrators in France, against 388,843 the previous week.

Four events in Paris

Four events are scheduled for Saturday in Paris.

The two main ones will leave from the Port Royal metro station (Ve) at 1:00 p.m., on the initiative of a movement of "yellow vests", and at 2:30 p.m. from Place Joffre, in front of the Military School (VIIe), at the call of Florian Philippot, leader of the Patriots.

The former number 2 of the National Front hopes to revive the mobilization at the start of the school year, thanks to a "great unique, national event on Saturday, September 4".

The Minister of Health Olivier Véran affirmed this Thursday that "the last reluctance is falling in the face of the success of the health pass".

This device, which must be presented in bars, restaurants, long-distance transport or even hospitals, could be extended beyond November 15, the limit set by law, "if the Covid does not disappear from our lives", a- he warned.

Extension from Monday of the health pass

Since August 16, the health pass has been applied in shopping centers of more than 20,000 square meters, in departments where the incidence rate exceeds 200 per 100,000 inhabitants over a week.

However, the administrative court of Versailles on Tuesday suspended the decree of the prefect of Yvelines imposing the health pass in these centers, on the grounds that it prevented access to essential goods to people who do not have them.

From Monday, the health pass will also apply to employees in places where customers are requested.

Employees refusing to present it may have their employment contracts suspended.
