On August 26, the Shanxi Provincial Institute of Archaeology released the results of archaeological excavations.

Archaeologists from Datong, Shanxi found the wooden warrior figurines and the tomb beasts of the Northern Wei Dynasty in a tomb for the first time.

The warrior figurines wear pockets on their heads, thick eyebrows, round eyes, high pointed noses, and wide mouth corners.

The orc face of the town tomb has an animal body with a slightly drooping head, a high and wide nose, and a raised mouth.

From May to June 2017, the Archaeological Research Institute of Datong City conducted rescue excavations on a tomb of the Northern Wei Dynasty discovered during the process of infrastructure construction.

A total of 44 tombs in the Northern Wei Dynasty were cleaned up, providing physical data for further understanding of the funeral system of ethnic integration and immigrants from other places during the Pingcheng period of the Northern Wei Dynasty.
