As an important town for lacquer production, Fuzhou has always had a complete industrial ecology from the processing of large lacquer materials to the production of large lacquer craftsmanship.

Huang Shoukun, a lacquer artist from Taichung, Taiwan who was born in Fujian and came to Rongjiang in 2017, set up a lacquer art studio.

For more than four years, Huang Shoukun has tried to combine lacquer art with ceramics, tea ware and other objects, creating many unique lacquer art works.

He hopes that with the help of cross-industry innovation, more people, especially young people, can have more and deeper understanding of intangible cultural heritage and bring traditional skills to life and vitality.

The picture shows Huang Shoukun inspecting the drying lacquer works in a computer-controlled shade room in Fuzhou, Fujian on August 24.
