- Charlie was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and as a member of The Rolling Stones one of the best drummers of his generation.

Watts 'doctor recently advised him against participating in The Rolling Stones' planned tour.

- I work hard to recover completely, but have today accepted the advice I received from the experts that this will take time, he said then.

He is the drummer of the drummers, one of the really big ones who has played for rock history.

He not only plays a role in the Rolling Stones, but for the whole rock music, says music critic Per Sinding-Larsen.

Per Sinding-Larsen believes that Charlie Watts also played a major role in keeping The Rolling Stones on track.

- He is an elegant man, you recognize him by his well-combed hair and nice British wardrobe, but also by his way of keeping the band stable.

He is an extremely important person for the band.
