This is the tribute that Ringo Starr paid this Tuesday to Charlie Watts, the drummer of the Rolling Stones, whose disappearance learned on Tuesday at the age of 80.

The Beatles drummer posted a photo showing him with his counterpart, both holding the same wand.

"God bless Charlie Watts we will miss you man, love and peace to your family," Ringo Starr captioned the photo.

Paul McCartney, another former Beatles, said he was "very sad" to learn of the musician's death.

“I've always loved you Charlie,” he said, offering his condolences to the drummer's family and the Rolling Stones.

The legendary Abbey Road Studios in London recalled a statement from Charlie Watts: “I wanted to play drums because I fell in love with glitter and lights, but it wasn't for adulation.

It was to be up there and play.

"

The drummer died on Tuesday at the age of 80.

The musician "died peacefully in a London hospital surrounded by his family," said a spokesperson.

Charlie Watts has been a member of the Rolling Stones since 1963. Along with frontman Mick Jagger and guitarist Keith Richards, Charlie Watts was one of the oldest members of the famous rock group, which has seen Mick Taylor, Ronnie Wood and Bill Wyman.
