This latest episode explores the symbolic and historical force of terrorism trials, such as that of the attacks of November 13, 2015 in Paris.

Like those which made it possible to judge war criminals, these filmed and ultra-mediatized audiences are supposed to fight oblivion, mark the response of democracy and freedom in the face of terror.

But a requirement is imposed: to speak the law, to respect the presumption of innocence of the accused.

Barbie trial, Papon trial, Merah trial, trial of the January 2015 attacks, trial of the attacks of 13 November 2015: trials linked to political violence mark contemporary French history, through their memorial issues and through their international media coverage.

Video recording of hearings produces archives essential to the work of researchers.

What makes a terrorism trial a historic trial?

How to respect the emotions of the victims, to register their cause in history, while respecting the presumption of innocence of the accused?

Does the fact of filming the hearings have a consequence on their progress?

What traces do these trials leave in the archives?

What are the challenges of the media coverage of these trials?
