From the evening of August 21st to the evening of August 22nd, the Grapefruit Lantern Festival was held in Huangyao Ancient Town, Guangxi.

It is understood that the "Grapefruit Lantern Festival" is spontaneously held by the local people. It is held on the annual "Zhongyuan Festival". It starts on the 14th of the seventh lunar calendar and ends on the 15th of the lunar calendar, for a total of two nights.

The grapefruit lamp is a stick of incense and candles on the grapefruit. Three grapefruits are connected with bamboo sticks to form a triangle, and then the triangle grapefruit lamps are connected to float on the Yao River, entrusting the Huang Yao people to the beauty of life. Blessings.

According to legend, in ancient times, the people of Huangyao often could not bear the troubles of floods during the rainy season.

In order to worship the river god, the ancestors picked grapefruits on the fourteenth and fifteenth nights of the seventh lunar month, cut off the stalks, put incense and candles on them, and banished them along the river.

The lantern team drifted downstream along the river in order to pray for the prosperity of the country and the people in the coming year.

The custom of putting grapefruit lanterns has been passed down in Huang Yao year after year.

At the same time, the "you" of grapefruit is homonymous with the "you" of blessing, and grapefruit is Yuzi, which has auspicious meaning.
