Kunlun Mountain Geopark Jade Zhufeng, Xiwangmu Yaochi, Jingxian Valley, and Yuxu Peak are all In the first-level geological relics protection zone, unauthorized entry by any unit or individual is strictly prohibited.
At present, it is the peak tourist season on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Some travel companions entered the Kunlun Mountain Geopark Grade 1 Protection Zone without permission to travel, explore, and climb, causing certain difficulties for the park's ecological environment protection.
Coupled with the recent continuous rainfall in the Kunlun Mountains area, some road sections have been damaged by water and landslides, which poses a greater safety hazard to tourists.
The notice pointed out that Kunlun Mountain Geopark's first-level protection zone is not a tourist area, and it is strictly forbidden for any unit or individual to enter the first-level protection zone of the geopark without authorization; it is prohibited to enter the second and third-level protection areas of the geopark to engage in activities that have nothing to do with the nature of the geological heritage protection work. Otherwise, the geopark management agency will impose a fine of more than 100 yuan and less than 5,000 yuan on violators.
In order to strengthen the protection and management of resources and environment, the Forestry and Grassland Bureau of Golmud City, Qinghai Province has issued a notice to the public, and at the same time, checkpoints have been set up at various road junctions in the reserve to prevent tourists who do not have legal procedures from entering the reserve and prevent illegal entry into the Kunlun Mountain National Geological Area. Any unit or individual in the park's first-level geological heritage protection zone will be investigated for relevant legal responsibilities once discovered, and those who refuse to listen to dissuasion will be punished severely in accordance with the law.
Those who must enter the Kunlun Mountain National Geological Park's first-level geological heritage protection zone to engage in scientific research observation and survey activities shall be approved by the Kunlun Mountain Geopark Management Agency of Golmud City, and a copy of the activity results shall be submitted to the park management agency.
