Recently, the Forestry and Grassland Bureau of Tengchong City, Yunnan Province has successively confirmed the discovery of 4 national secondary protected plants and endangered species of P. vulgaris in Xinhua, Tuantian, Mangbang and other towns.
It is reported that the firewood found this time is Guangxi firewood.
Prior to this, the Guangxi P. vulgaris was only distributed in the gentle slope shrubs of the valley at an altitude of 910 meters in Jingxi County, Guangxi. The number is very scarce. There are only 3 wild plants remaining, and they are on the verge of extinction in the wild.
The Guangxi firewood confirmed and discovered in Tengchong City is of great significance for strengthening the protection, breeding and utilization of Guangxi firewood.
According to reports, in the next step the local area will organize forestry and grass science and technology personnel to conduct a comprehensive investigation of the current distribution of the tree in Guangxi in Tengchong, hoping to find more wild plants.
At the same time, artificial reproduction and cultivation are actively carried out to expand the resource population.
