Following the decision to release treated water containing tritium, etc., accumulated at TEPCO's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station into the sea, the government will take measures to reduce rumors about agriculture, forestry and fishery products at the relevant ministerial meetings. I got the idea.

The pillars of the countermeasures are to prevent the release of treated water from causing rumors and to build a system that can overcome the rumors and continue the business.

In the plan, we will appropriately instruct distributors etc. so that fair transactions will be carried out so that we can grasp the actual transaction situation as necessary and scientifically explain safety to supermarket sales staff and inn employees. It includes holding seminars to deepen understanding.

In addition, a consultation desk for companies handling agriculture, forestry and fishery products will be set up in local governments and national related organizations in the Pacific coast centering on Tohoku, and fishermen affected by the nuclear accident mainly in Fukushima Prefecture. It also includes the expansion of support projects for people from Aomori prefecture to Chiba prefecture.

However, many of them are strengthening or expanding existing measures, and while the damage caused by rumors still remains, the effectiveness of the measures will be questioned more than ever.

The proposal is expected to be officially decided at an upcoming ministerial meeting.
