Opponents of the health pass are not giving up.

Saturday afternoon, more than 200 events are planned in the main cities of France, from Lille to Toulon, and in the smallest cities, such as Sarlat, Vichy or Antibes.

This is the sixth consecutive weekend of mobilization against the government measure.

In Paris, four processions are organized, including two at the initiative of collectives of “yellow vests”, one leaving from Place du Châtelet and the other near the Ministry of Health at 12 noon.

Another massive gathering at the call of the Patriots by Florian Philippot is organized from Place Denfert-Rochereau at 2:30 p.m.

Between 13,900 and 17,000 participants are expected in the capital, said a police source.

388,843 demonstrators across France

A major law enforcement system will be deployed to supervise the Parisian parades, which have taken place without major incidents over the past two weeks.

This heterogeneous movement that began in mid-July and which brings together beyond the vaccine-skeptical or conspiratorial galaxy, has grown in unprecedented fashion in the heart of summer.

Last week, the weekend of August 15, the Interior Ministry recorded 214,845 demonstrators across the country, a slight drop in participation compared to the previous week.

The militant collective Le Nombre Jaune, which publishes a city-by-city count, has counted more than 388,843 demonstrators across France, a slight drop compared to the 415,000 counted by the same organization the previous Saturday.

A rally scheduled for September 4

As the start of the new school year approaches, Florian Philippot, ex-number 2 of the National Rally, also called for a “great single, national event on Saturday, September 4,” with “all the political forces”.

The extension of the health pass, already compulsory in bars, restaurants and hospitals, continues in France.

Since Monday, more than 120 large shopping centers and stores in the Paris region and the southern half of France now have the obligation to systematically check the document.

At the same time, 40,508,406 people now have a full vaccination schedule (60.1% of the total population), according to data released Thursday by health authorities.
