“I am sure that the New Wave will continue to open new names and light up the stars, unite people around the enduring values of creation, art, mutual respect, and the hospitality of the residents of Sochi and the cordiality of the audience will again, as in previous years, help the current contestants to perform brightly and with dignity” - Putin said.
Earlier, Putin congratulated the participants, organizers and guests of the XIII International Elena Obraztsova Young Opera Singers' Competition on the opening.
