In light of the advanced technology that surrounds all aspects of children’s lives, starting from the study in which modern technologies overlap, to entertainment through electronic games available via phones or devices, we ask here a question about the child’s theater keeping pace with all these technologies and its ability to attract the new generation among all What technology offers temptations. Can theater attract a child's attention? And what are his modern tools for that? Playwrights surveyed by "Emirates Today", stressed the need to update the language and tools of theater in order to remain a flexible educational language that fascinates the child.

For his part, the Emirati theater actor Bilal Abdullah said: “If we want to build a theater, we must start with the children’s theater. Working on the children’s theater is what guarantees the presence of a future audience for the theater, because the starting point is from a young age, as children are the basis for building a public base for theatre.” . He added, "The theater, with the different techniques presented on its stage, must be present, while the problem in the UAE is the permanent absence of the child's theater. The child does not have the opportunity to watch theatrical works on a permanent basis, as some works are presented on the sidelines with two acts per year, and here is the error ». Abdullah considered that the high cost and lack of funding are among the main obstacles to presenting more works in the children's theater, and for this the problem of lack of support for children's theater arises, as there is a need for businessmen to enter to invest in children's theater. As for classic theatrical texts, Abdullah noted the importance of leaving the scope of classic stories and turning to contemporary theatrical work, because tales are evolving and must keep pace with the times. On the other hand, it is necessary to prepare and train child actors to stand on the stage, noting the importance of continuing school theater, and focusing on a more developed school theatrical curriculum in order to prepare actors who are able to participate in theatrical works.

For her part, the theatrical actress, who works in theatrical scenography, decoration and production, Nasra Al-Maamari, pointed out that the child’s theater must keep pace with the times and the thinking of the child in order to be able to attract him. This is enough to generate creativity in dealing with children's theater.

Al-Maamari confirmed that when she works on the stage, she gives children the opportunity to create stories, so that she can build a play with their participation, noting that she is working today in the field of scenography in addition to acting, explaining that scenography allows the playwright to manipulate images and characters through lighting. Theatrical work is an aesthetic and attractive form that appeals to the child. Al-Maamari deliberately keeps pace with the temptations that appeal to the child, stressing that music plays a major role in attracting the child for a period of 45 minutes, and that the factor of surprise and waiting for surprises in theatrical work is what keeps their attention. As for these surprises, according to Al-Maamari, they do not depend on the text only, but on all the elements of theatrical work. With the transition from one stage to another, music and lighting must be servants of the work. Theatrical work is an educational work presented in a humorous, simplified and concept far from the language of preaching. seriousness.

For his part, theatrical actor Abdullah Al-Muqbali noted that the actor plays a major role in the emergence of this generation. The child, if he grows up in light of the developed and renewed thought, will offer more in the future. Through the theater, taking into account that it is in line with modern technology. Al-Muqbali pointed out that attracting the child requires the inclusion of technology in the work, whether when writing the text or even in terms of production, pointing out that the child’s theater is dangerous, and it is necessary to attract the child for 45 minutes, and that is why dealing with him must start from the language that he loves and attracts him a lot.

Al-Muqbali considered that the child’s theater is characterized by danger, as he believes that its details will affect the child a lot, starting with the words used in the work, all the way to the accuracy in presenting the information. He added: “The child is constantly looking for an aesthetic image, presenting a flashy image and colors that will be able to attract him greatly, especially since the types of theaters are numerous. The child is kept away from the recognized schools. In addition, the addition of very fast electronic jumps, according to Al-Muqbali, will make theatrical work more fun, and this makes the child in search of something new, as the theater is similar to a game, but it is a directed game that carries messages lined inside.Speaking about the crises of the children’s theater, Al-Muqbali noted that the children’s theater does not receive enough attention, as its activities are often on the sidelines, especially the puppet theater, which is still one of the most attractive theaters for children, but its activities are not held constantly. He pointed out that the theater is a family work in the first place, and the child is concerned with it, and that is why it is necessary to find special theaters for the child, while receiving foreign performances from abroad, just as theater works for adults are hosted and large works are produced.
