Prime Minister Jean Castex will go this Thursday to Albi, in the Tarn, where he will visit the hospital "again strongly impacted" by the fourth wave of the epidemic.

This "hospital tension" is in fact particularly marked in Occitania with 1,214 Covid patients received according to figures transmitted Tuesday evening by the regional health agency (ARS), or nearly a hundred since Friday.

The services are loaded in Haute-Garonne (291 hospitalized patients), in Hérault (277) and Gard (158) and the ARS announces the transfer “this week” of six patients to Hauts-de-France and Grand -Is in order to preserve resuscitation capacities for all types of pathologies.

The most striking figure remains that of deaths in hospitals: 49 in just four days.

Three quarters of fully vaccinated adults

On the screening front, however, a slight decline appears with 3,196 positive cases per day on average against 3,344 in the previous bulletin.

Vaccination is also progressing well despite the slowdown observed in early August.

By the end of the week, three quarters of the region's adult inhabitants will be fully vaccinated.

For 12-18 year olds, the ARS is calling on parents “not to postpone what we can do this summer until the start of the school year”.
