Federal Minister of Health Jens Spahn (CDU) can easily imagine life as parents with his husband.
“I think we would be good parents,” said the 41-year-old in an interview with Bunte magazine.
There are still no concrete plans to start a family.
"But if so, then soon, we're not getting any younger either." Spahn has been married to journalist Daniel Funke (40) since 2017.
In the interview, the CDU politician also spoke about his sometimes difficult relationship with the Catholic Church.
“My faith is deeply anchored in me,” said Spahn.
As a gay man in particular, he is aware that the Church has "made many mistakes in its long history".
“There are priests who bless guinea pigs and motorbikes.
But two loving, believing people who want a blessing for their promise to be there for one another for life are rejected by the church.
I address that, it bothers and annoys me, but it does not lead to my turning away from my faith and the church. "
Scheuer: "Yes, we got married"
Spahn's Union colleague Andreas Scheuer has meanwhile married his partner Julia Reuss.
The 46-year-old Federal Minister of Transport told Bunte magazine.
“Yes, we got married,” confirmed the CSU politician.
"We are very happy and look forward to our future together."
