　　Wang Kai was born in Winnipeg, Canada in 1979. His father was a university professor and his mother was a social worker volunteer.

Influenced by his family, Wang Kai stayed in school after graduating from George Brown College in Canada with a bachelor's degree in education to pursue education.

　　Literature is Wang Kai's lifelong love.

He has liked reading since he was a child, and wrote his first fiction novel when he was 12 years old. He also went to Dalhousie University in Canada and the University of British Columbia to study poetry and creation.

In his decades of literary career, Wang Kai has published works such as "The Lobster Revolution" and "The Supermarket in Nova Scotia" in Canada, participated in the American novel creation month online event, and launched a series of magical stories "Wu Wei's Magical Story" trip".

　　In 2014, thanks to the teaching cooperation project between Canada's George Brown College and Chongqing Foreign Language School, Wang Kai came to Chongqing to work.

In 2016, he married Wang Xiaolin, a Chongqing girl, and settled down to become a "teacher" and "little writer" in Shancheng.

Wang Kai, who works as a part-time editor on Chongqing's official overseas communication platform iChongqing, collects and edits news, and uses a diary to record the entire process of the epidemic in China from the outbreak to the effective control.

From January 20th to March 19th, 2020, 60 diaries were assembled and published as "Kayge Diary: A Canadian's Chongqing War "Pandemic"". The books are now available overseas in multilingual form.
