Waitongwu Village, Xihu District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province is located in the north of Zhuantang Street, adjacent to the Xiangshan Campus of China Academy of Art.

In 2007, it was still a remote mountain village with a per capita income of less than 10,000 yuan.

In 2012, with the arrival of the first artist teacher of the China Academy of Art, Waitongwu Village began to build a village around the theme of "art", and the industry in the village was gradually optimized through artistic empowerment.

Today, the collective income of Waitongwu Village has moved from 1 million yuan in 2007 to 5 million yuan, the per capita disposable income of villagers has increased by 8 times, various cultures are blended with each other, and the living environment has been continuously optimized.
