[Explanation] Recently, nucleic acid testing for all employees has begun in many areas of Xi'an.

Shaanxi Baimei Medical Laboratory, located in Fengdong New Town, Xixian New District, Shaanxi Province, is responsible for nucleic acid detection tasks in multiple areas of Xi'an.

The reporter saw in the laboratory that test tubes containing nucleic acid samples were neatly placed on the shelves, and new samples were continuously being sent into the laboratory. Looking around, the staff seemed to be in a "sea of pipes and mountains".

What our staff inside are doing is the large-scale screening and testing of COVID-19.

So in this work, we are currently undertaking the emergency nucleic acid detection work in multiple areas of Xi'an.

The laboratory personnel inside have been working overtime and have been fighting for a long time 24 hours a day.

[Explanation] According to Yan Hua, some confirmed cases have tested negative several times, and finally turned positive. This is because the virus is concealed at the beginning and requires a process to reproduce in the human body. It is easy to detect after the number reaches a certain level. Therefore, "drug hunting" requires the full attention of the staff.

So for our laboratory personnel, they are taking certain risks.

Because the samples they tested may contain the current new coronavirus, especially the delta strain since entering the country.

Therefore, the laboratory personnel strictly follow the national requirements for the detection of new crown nucleic acid, and the relevant biosafety protection requirements are strictly implemented.

Colleagues who entered our sample extraction area, and you can see that they are all fully armed and meticulous.

So every time they go in and out of work, it may take up to 15 to 20 minutes to put on and take off their clothes.

[Explanation] In response to the public's question about "why the results of nucleic acid testing are not immediately desirable", Yan Hua said that nucleic acid testing is a scientific and precise task.

During large-scale population screening, samplers must come to the site to take samples and bind the identities and samples of the people.

After reaching a certain number, professional transporters pack the collected samples and transport them to the laboratory. After a series of complex procedures such as scanning code reception, nucleic acid extraction, machine inspection, and data analysis, the results can be obtained.

Then when you enter the testing link in the laboratory, you can also see in the laboratory that it will undergo nucleic acid extraction and then PCR (polymerase chain reaction) amplification.

Then after the amplification is completed, the analysis of the corresponding data results involves a series of complex processes.

Each of these processes will take time.

Therefore, it is said that all the people in the sampling point you take samples, in fact, it is only the first step in our testing work.

[Explanation] Inspector Feng Fan has to work continuously for eight hours a day. In order to save time and not waste protective clothing, she and her colleagues will control their diet before going to work and reduce the number of visits to the bathroom.

She takes off her protective clothing every time she changes shifts, which is the most relaxing moment for her.

Feng Fan said that the scars on the masks on the faces of colleagues are like medals for fighting the "epidemic".

Only by working hard to ensure that every nucleic acid sample is accurate can we be responsible for the safety of the people.
