(Fighting New Coronary Pneumonia) Two new imported cases in Hong Kong are diagnosed after foreign domestic helpers complete quarantine

  China News Service, Hong Kong, August 14th. As of 0:00 on the 14th, two new confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia in Hong Kong, all imported cases, including a 38-year-old foreign domestic helper, only found the diagnosis after she completed isolation in the quarantine hotel.

  The two new confirmed cases involve a 38-year-old woman and a 56-year-old man. Both of them are asymptomatic and both arrived in Hong Kong from the United States.

So far, the total number of confirmed cases in Hong Kong has increased to 12,032.

  According to the information released by the Center for Health Protection of the Department of Health of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, the female patient had received two doses of forbidden vaccine in Hong Kong, while the male patient had received two doses of forbidden vaccine in the United States.

  The Centre for Health Protection stated that the confirmed female patient was a foreign domestic helper living in a detached house in Stanley.

She left Hong Kong for the United States on June 18 and returned to Hong Kong by plane on August 1. She was tested for the virus before departure on July 29 and the result was negative. When she arrived in Hong Kong, she was tested at the Hong Kong International Airport. Also negative.

However, after she completed 7 days of isolation at the quarantine hotel, she submitted a sample for testing on the 12th day, and the result was initially positive.

  The test by the Public Health Laboratory Service of the Department of Health showed that the female patient had the L452R mutant virus strain, but did not carry the N501Y and E484K mutant genes.

For the sake of prudence, the locations she visited during the incubation period and the infectious period have been included in the mandatory testing announcement. The Center for Health Protection stated that the epidemiological investigation and case tracking of the relevant cases are still in progress.

  The Hong Kong Hospital Authority announced that as of 9 a.m. on the 14th, a total of 4 confirmed patients have been discharged from the hospital in the past 24 hours. So far, a total of 11,740 confirmed or suspected patients have recovered and discharged.

A total of 44 confirmed patients are still in hospital.
