A Syrian father keeps his daughter for years in an isolated underground room

The police in the Damascus countryside succeeded in liberating a young woman whose father had locked her in an isolated room for years.

The Syrian Ministry of Interior announced on its website that the police of the Jdeidet Artouz district in the Damascus countryside received information about the detention of his daughter Nour (in his thirties) in an isolated room, half of which is underground, noting that a patrol investigated the place, and found the girl detained inside. The room showed signs of pallor and mental and physical fatigue.

The patrol rescued the girl to the nearest medical point, and arrested her father, who admitted holding his daughter for several years on the pretext that she was ill.

According to the ministry's website, the accused will be referred to the judiciary, while the girl is still receiving treatment at Qatana National Hospital.
