Up to now, Yangzhou has completed five rounds of large-scale nucleic acid testing, with a total of more than 7.8 million samples taken.

Among them, the fifth round of large-scale nucleic acid testing, as of 8:00 on August 10, a total of 1.5944 million people were sampled, 185,300 tubes were tested, and 14 cases were positive.

Why do we need to carry out rounds of large-scale nucleic acid testing?

According to relevant experts from the Yangzhou disease control department, full-staff nucleic acid testing is an important means to stop the spread of the epidemic, and it is to screen out the infected persons in the potential population as soon as possible and cut off the chain of virus transmission.

Especially in high-risk areas, there may be community transmission or occult transmission, and people in these areas need to repeat multiple rounds of testing.

According to a report from the Yangzhou Municipal Health Commission, as of 24:00 on August 9, Yangzhou has reported a total of 394 confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia in Yangzhou. Through epidemiological investigations of the cases, 9576 close contacts and sub-close contacts have been identified. All have been isolated and controlled in accordance with relevant regulations.

At the same time, as of now, the number of high-risk areas in Yangzhou has increased to 94.
