An exhibition of "Natsukawa Uchiwa", a traditional craft of Okayama prefecture with openwork made of Japanese paper, is being held in Okayama City.

Natsukawa Uchiwa is a traditional craft that has been made for over 300 years in the current Natsukawa district of Kita-ku, Okayama City, and features a "watermark" that reveals patterns such as warblers and fireflies when held over the light.



At the exhibition, a Uchiwa Preservation Society is held, and 47 works by members and others are exhibited.



Inside, there are also exhibits of new designs that are more elaborate and elaborate than those of traditional designs, such as Okayama Castle, the Seto Bridge, and fireworks that wish for the convergence of the corona.



A visitor said, "I've never seen such a nice and wonderful uchiwa."



Mr. Nakayama Ishihara, a writer of Natsukawa Uchiwa, said, "I was able to make it calmly because there were few orders in Corona. It is a traditional craft of Okayama prefecture, so I want you to know it widely."



This exhibition is open until the 15th of this month at Tenjinyama Cultural Plaza in Kita-ku, Okayama City.
