Vegan pineapple tacos and miso-seasoned butter potatoes and green herb vinegar or an almond tart.. Not all of the above seem like typical food during illness, but if you're suffering from the long-term side effects of corona, you may want to try these dishes.

It's part of the free Taste and Flavor cookbook by British-based chefs Ryan Riley and Kimberly Duke.

The purpose of the book is to help suffering people regain their sense of smell and taste after contracting COVID-19.

The duo, who previously worked with patients who had lost their senses of smell and taste due to cancer, applied the same “five elements” to help people suffering from the long-term effects of corona, namely “odour, flavor (a pleasant, sour taste), texture, layers and nutritional sensations that the trigeminal nerve transmits to the brain ( Like the tickling, hot and cold sensation we get from spices.”

Loss of taste and smell is a long-term symptom of “Covid-19” that may not always be taken seriously, because it does not directly affect the ability to work or exercise, for example.

However, this reduced sensory experience can affect both mental and physical health.

"We did some research and found that Covid-related changes in the ability to smell and taste have distinct features," Riley and Duke said.
