The aftermath of

Game of Thrones

was difficult for Kit Harington to manage.

“The things that happened to me after the end of

Game of Thrones

and what happened during the series were quite traumatic in nature and involved alcohol,” he told The

Sunday Times

.

This is how he got admitted to rehab in 2019, as the media reported at the time.

This cure seems to have been effective, since since then, the interpreter of Jon Snow became a father for the first time, with his wife, Rose Leslie, met on the set of the successful series.

But before he got there, Kit Harington had to do a lot of work on himself and cure his addiction.

“You get to a point where you feel like you are a bad person.

You feel ashamed.

And you feel like there's no way out, that's who you are.

The path to sobriety is through realizing that you can change, ”he added.

“One of the things that I learned and that I love is that the expression Chasse the natural and it gallops back is totally wrong: you can change.

I think it's the most beautiful thing there is, ”adds the actor.

“I kept my addictions a secret and I was really locked in with them.

Suddenly, it was a real surprise for the people around me.

Which is often the case, it seems to me, ”explained Kit Harington, who during this dark time also thought about suicide.

“I absolutely don't want to be seen as a martyr or someone special.

I went through something, it's my thing.

If it helps someone, that's cool, ”he concludes.
