Since this Monday morning, some French departments require the presentation of the health pass to access large shopping centers, that is to say those with a surface greater than 20,000 m2.

This is the case in Loire-Atlantique following a prefectural decree published on Sunday.

Five shopping centers in this department are thus affected by the new measure.

All are located in the Nantes area: Beaulieu (Carrefour) and Paridis (E.Leclerc) in Nantes, Atlantis (E.Leclerc) in Saint-Herblain, Océane (E.Leclerc) in Rezé and Pôle Sud (E.Leclerc) in Basse-Goulaine.

A decision of the prefect

The presentation of the health pass is compulsory for customers aged 18 or over.

It is justified by the local figures of the epidemic, argues Didier Martin, prefect of Loire-Atlantique, which highlights that "the health indicators are above the alert threshold".

The incidence rate of Loire-Atlantique rose to 149 per 100,000, according to the latest figures released Friday by the regional health agency (ARS).

The national incidence rate was 226 per 100,000 inhabitants that same day.
