Jamie Spears states in a document to the court in Los Angeles that "there is no reason whatsoever" that he should be removed as the daughter's guardian.

He believes that the daughter before the guardianship was really in debt and that she is not now thanks to him.

The pop star's father claims that he "dutifully and faithfully" took care of his daughter's money and property, according to The Guardian.

Dad: Britney can be a danger to herself

Jamie Spears says that co-guardian Montgomery has said that it could again be relevant with the forced admission of Britney Spears.

Something that the guardian denies.

According to the father, Britney Spears suffers from mental illness and can be a danger to herself or others.

"Montgomery has not at any time told Mr. Spears that such a thing (compulsory hospitalization) would be necessary for Miss Spears at this time," the co-guard's lawyers wrote in a response.

However, Montgomery says she believes the father's guardianship "seriously affects" Britney Spears' mental health, according to the statement.

Fought for his freedom since June

Britney Spears has been openly fighting since June to be free from her father Jamie Spears' guardianship.

She has received broad support from the public, not least from the "Free Britney" movement, in her struggle.

The singer believes that her father should be prosecuted for abusing his role as guardian.

She has described the situation as offensive.

When the world artist first commented on the case, she said that she cries daily and is forced to take the strong drug lithium.

She also said that she wants to have children with her boyfriend, but that it is not possible as she has a spiral inserted - against her will.

From 2008 until 2019, the father was the formal guardian of both Britney Spears' person and her assets.

He now shares control of his daughter's assets with a foundation, while Britney Spears' co-worker Jodi Montgomery is her guardian.
