In response to the rapid spread of the infection, Kanagawa Prefecture requested medical institutions in the prefecture that accept patients with the new coronavirus to postpone hospitalization and surgery that doctors decided could be postponed for about three months.

This was revealed by Governor Kuroiwa at a press conference.

In Kanagawa Prefecture, the number of hospitalized patients with the new corona has increased due to the rapid spread of infection, and as of the 5th, there were 1111 patients, and the usage rate for ready-to-use beds was 69%.

The prefecture has requested 186 medical institutions accepting patients with the new corona to increase the total number of beds they can accept to 1790 within three weeks, but the number of patients will continue to increase at this pace. For example, there is a possibility that there will be insufficient beds at the end of this month.

For this reason, we requested 186 medical institutions to postpone non-emergency surgery and hospitalization, which doctors judged they could postpone, for about three months.

Furthermore, in case a person who is in poor physical condition cannot be hospitalized immediately, a facility for emergency oxygen inhalation will be installed at a hotel in Yokohama City and will start operation from the 7th.

Governor Kuroiwa said, "The so-called collapse of medical care, which makes it difficult to provide conventional medical care including emergency services, is about to begin. It will be three consecutive holidays from tomorrow, but I would like you to take thorough infection control measures and refrain from going out unnecessarily." I was talking.
