A judicial investigation for “murder and attempted murder” was opened and entrusted to the Sarthe gendarmerie group.
A woman from Bangladesh was killed in the night from Tuesday to Wednesday in La Flèche (Sarthe) and two men were injured, probably by stabbing, during a "violent attack", announced the public prosecutor's office in Le Mans.
"The soldiers of the La Flèche gendarmerie company were called to intervene at the home of a couple from Bangladesh, who had just been the subject of a violent attack," said Delphine Dewailly, public prosecutor of Le Mans , in a press release.
Three children entrusted to social assistance
"On the spot, they noted the death of a young woman, as well as the presence of her husband and a friend, both injured", she added, specifying that the two men did not appear in danger of death.
"The blows appear to have been carried with a knife," she said.
Three children, aged two, five and eight, were first taken to shelter with a neighbor by the spouse of the killed woman and then transferred to child welfare services, after the same source.
An autopsy of the victim should be performed.
