The Ministry of the Environment's expert meeting has a negative effect on "Crayfish" and so-called "Red-eared slider", which have a great impact on the ecosystem but are not designated as specific alien organisms due to concerns that they will be discarded in large quantities. We have put together a proposal that it is necessary to build a regulatory system in a way that reduces as much as possible.

In both cases, the exotic species "Crayfish" and "Red-eared slider", which are called "Red-eared sliders", have strong fertility and have a great impact on the ecosystem by depriving them of the habitat of other creatures.

However, all of them are already widely bred as pets, and they are not designated as "specific alien organisms" because there is a concern that they will be dumped in large quantities in rivers and ponds if breeding, import, and sales are regulated.

In response to this situation, the Ministry of the Environment's expert meeting, which has been studying measures against alien species, made a proposal on the 3rd and built a regulatory system to reduce the harmful effects of being thrown away in large quantities as much as possible. He pointed out that it is necessary to do so.

In response to the proposal, the Ministry of the Environment has decided to consider specific regulatory methods with a view to amending the Alien Organism Law.
