Every day, nearly six tonnes of waste is collected on the beaches of the Baie des Anges, in Nice, reports

.

The cleaners spend three times a day picking up the waste, half of which is glass.

Most of the work is done early in the morning but the bins, some of which are “connected” and send a signal when full, are also picked up in the early afternoon and evening.

The influx of tourists and walkers necessarily generates a greater production of waste that the city tries to manage as well as possible, in order to keep a clean and pleasant waterfront.
