American comedian Kathy Griffin revealed that she had cancer in the left lung that requires treatment

 Yesterday: “I will undergo an operation to remove half of my left lung.

Yes, I suffer from lung cancer while I have never smoked tobacco.”

"The doctors are very optimistic, given that the cancer is still in the first stage of progression and is confined to my left lung," the 60-year-old humorist added.

The Emmy-winning Kathy Griffin, who for 10 years participated in the revival of the New Year's Eve evening on CNN, sparked controversy in the year 2017, after she posted on social media pictures of her bearing what looked like a severed head covered in blood with features of US President Donald Trump.

This incident constituted a blow to the career of the actress, who lost her contract with "CNN" and had to cancel several shows, despite the publication of a video in which she apologized.

Griffin has also received death threats.
