On the morning of the 2nd, the Electoral Management Committee of the Seventh Legislative Council of the Macao Special Administrative Region (hereinafter referred to as the EAC) posted a notice in the ground floor lobby of the Public Administration Building and announced the complete list of candidates confirmed to be accepted for public inspection.

  According to the general list of candidates, there are 14 shortlists and 128 candidates for direct elections of the 7th Legislative Council of the Macao Special Administrative Region; 5 shortlists and 12 candidates for indirect elections.

  According to Macau’s Legislative Council Election Law, the EAC will draw lots on the day following the posting of the confirmed candidate lists to determine the ranking of the candidate lists on the ballot papers.

  With the announcement of the complete list of candidates confirmed to be accepted, the election of the 7th Legislative Council will soon enter a period of ban on publicity until the beginning of the election campaign period on August 28.

The election campaign period starts on the 15th day (August 28th) before the election day and ends at midnight on the 2nd day before the election day (September 10th). Each candidate group can only run during this period. publicity.

  In response to the ban on publicity, the EAC issued No. 2 Election Guidelines on the same day, stipulating that the trustees, candidates and nominating committee trustees of the candidate list must be removed or deleted from any place before 12:00 midnight on the 2nd , All publicity materials, messages or information that the content can draw the public’s attention to a certain candidate, and expressly or implicitly recommends voters to vote or not to vote for a certain candidate.

Failure to comply with the guidelines will constitute an aggravated offence.

  The Seventh Legislative Council of the Macao Special Administrative Region is composed of 33 members with a term of four years, including 14 directly elected members, 12 indirectly elected members, and 7 members appointed by the Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region.
