In his early years, he was recruited as a forest ranger by the Tunchang County Forestry Bureau. Later, he was promoted from an ordinary forest ranger to a forest ranger team leader, and then to the current forest ranger team leader in Tuncheng Town.

Up to now, the three hilltop forests covering nearly 10,000 acres in Tunchang are all areas under the care of its forest protection team.

In winter, the ten thousand acres of jungle looked bleak and cold. Wang Shouqun wrapped his coat and walked through the jungle with his bare fingers turned red with cold.

But he seemed unmoved. In order to measure the ravines from place to place, he kept going forward, checking every tree over and over again, and insisting on repeating the same work every day.

After daily patrolling the forest and walking through the ravine, Wang Shouqun would look for a shade of trees to cool off. At this time, it was his most comfortable time. The bright sun above his head sprinkled a little bit through the leaves, and the breeze blew away Wang Shouqun's exhaustion.

After a short rest and recharge, Wang Shouqun sank, and then dived into the vast forest.

Wang Shouqun often said, “The work of guarding the forest cannot be relaxed at all.” Many lawbreakers are coveting these precious natural resources. If they are not strictly managed, destruction and theft may occur every day.

Therefore, in the process of patrolling the forest, once Wang Shouqun discovers the behavior of destroying forest resources, he will immediately stop it and report it level by level.

Since participating in forest protection work, Wang Shouqun has stopped and reported 85 forestry cases in total, and the phenomenon of deforestation in his jurisdiction has been effectively curbed.

He soon mastered forestry-related knowledge and basic techniques, and laid a good foundation for his forest protection work.
