There are around 200 different countries in our world.

The number cannot be given so precisely.

When is a state a state?

The United Nations recognizes the full quality of the state under international law in 195 states; the status of a “state” is disputed in nine other territories.

However, what all these states and territories treat themselves to is a flag.

And they usually look very similar.

The American news magazine “Time” once examined which colors are most common in the state flags - and visualized this research very appealingly at https://time.com/patriotic-flag-colors/, namely in the form of a color wheel. For this purpose, 196 flag images were downloaded from Flagpedia.net and the total number of pixels in each color was added. They received an incredible 527 shades - so the red of Denmark is very different from the Chinese. However, this enormous color plate has been reduced to 63 internet-friendly colors.

The wheel can be rotated with the mouse pointer, alternatively you can click directly into one of the colors.

Whenever you activate a color in this way, you will see the percentage with which the color is involved in all known flags of the world on the 12 o'clock position of the color wheel.

At the same time, a list of all countries whose flag contains the respective color opens at the edge.

The Danes share their shade of red with Japan and Colombia, among others.

Time magazine comes to the conclusion that white is the most patriotic color, the color is used in 17.7 percent of all flags, closely followed by red (14.3 percent) and yellow (7.8 percent).

Now our riddle:
