On July 30, the construction of the Tiemenguan Tunnel, the second longest tunnel of G0711 Urumqi-Yuli Expressway, started and is expected to be completed in 2023.
The Tiemenguan tunnel project is an important part of the national key engineering G0711 Urumqi-Yuli Expressway project, with a total length of 78.8 kilometers, passing through Yanqi Hui Autonomous County, Korla City, Korla Economic and Technological Development Zone and Yuli County, adopting two-way four-lane highway standards Construction, the design speed is 120 kilometers per hour.
The G0711 Urumqi-Yuli section expressway construction project is the “third vertical” in the “six horizontal and six vertical” high-grade highway network of the “6678” project of the “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan” of the autonomous region’s transportation, namely “Altai-Urumqi-Korla-Ruo” An important part of "Qiang", occupies an important position in the regional road network.
After the completion of the project, it will open up the transportation barrier between the north and south of Tianshan Mountains, and become a safe, comfortable, fast and efficient road transportation channel connecting northern Xinjiang and southern Xinjiang.
The construction project has a length of 321.713 kilometers and an estimated total investment of 46.7 billion yuan.
