An American woman roamed for months in her car with the bodies of her sister's two children... after she killed them

A young American woman was stopped while driving and the bodies of her niece and nephew were found in the trunk of her car, which were found during a routine traffic check.

Nicole Johnson, from the eastern coastal city of Baltimore, faces multiple charges, including child abuse that led to the death of the seven-year-old girl and the five-year-old boy.

The 33-year-old hid her niece's body in a bag and then put it in the trunk of the car in May last year, and continued to use the car normally, according to the Baltimore Sun newspaper. A year later, the boy's body was hidden alongside his sister's decomposing body, wrapped in a plastic bag, the newspaper reported.

Police stopped her on Wednesday for speeding and decided to impound the car when they realized she did not have the correct papers.

According to the newspaper, a policeman told Johnson that the car would be towed to answer him, "It doesn't matter, I won't be here in five days."

"You will all see me on the news," she added.

In 2019, Nicole's sister asked her to take care of the two children.

Johnson admitted during questioning that she hit her niece several times, according to the newspaper, causing the little girl's head to hit the ground.

She did not explain how the boy died.
